Lead has been used by man for thousands of years. The oldest recorded use goes back to 4,000B.C. to a figurine found in Egypt. Because it is malleable and resists corrosion, lead was used extensively by the Romans for water pipes, aqueducts, and cooking pots. In modern times, it is now used in many forms and due to its’ water resistance is ideal for use on buildings for roofs and flashing details.
